Default Upper Left Front Fulcrum Bolt

I'm in the process of rebuilding the front suspension of my '90 Majestic.
In disassembly of the left side the upper fulcrum bolt is blocked from pulling it out far enough for removal.
I quit for the day and didn't take the time to crawl under the car and take a look. Can anyone advise on what's blocking it?
Thanks,
Roger

The block was a hard line into the charcoal canister.

The job is pretty much finished. Everything came apart easily, new bushings and springs installed trouble free. At the end of the job, I have three (3) 5/8-inch ID, 1/8-inch thick, flat washers left over. I don't recall having any spacers installed on the upper fulcrum bolt on disassembly and if I do install the washers as spacers I have zero (0) free fulcrum bolt length - the lock nut on the end is right on the end. Everything looks good and the final assembly matches exactly the assembly illustration in the classic parts website. Anyone have any advice?

Thanks,
Roger

Would they go on the inner sides of the arms? If so you may be able to see gaps inside there. I don't have a breakdown handy so I may be just wrong.

Hi Roger,

Is it possible your washers go on the lower control arm fulcrum bolt and/or ball joints? I don't remember any of the shims being 1/8" thick. I think I recall that the upper wishbone bushings have large washers at their outer ends that may possibly fit into a "groove" in the rubber of the bushing. I may be confusing the XJ40 bushings with the X100 bushings, which I have dealt with more recently.

Cheers,

Don

Thanks Don, this is exactly what my upper control arm assemblies look like. I have three spacers with wear patterns matching the inside of the upper bushings and the end/face of the
tube through the frame. The spacers are 0.125 inch thick, I'm going to install two spacers of 0.0625 (easy to get and cheap) inch in each position. There are two potential purposes I can determine (?): work with upper BJ spacers to adjust caster and control end wear of the frame tube - the spacer wears and not the tube.
