Are you certain your using the correct terminology in describing the part?

Based on what you have described, the vehicle thinks it's in alarm condition and won't reset until proper methods are applied, such as the fob or entry of the security code.

Why don't you disconnect the battery completely, both terminals, let the car rest (several hours or even a day) and allow time for the various capacitors and electronics to de-energise. In the meantime, clean every ground in the engine bay, boot and interior of the vehicle to ensure good connectivity.
