Sorry to hear you are throwing in the towel... I'm fairly certain that the last no start when hot issue you were having (before blowing the transmission) was a simple $10 fuel non return valve... I don't suppose you gave the engine a foot full of revs while it was in park or neutral at any stage did you?
Maybe you can find another Jag to work on and keep the broken one for spares?
