windshield washer
hallo everyone.
hope anyone can give me a hint as when i use the windshield washer function the windshield wiper is not starting by itself.
i need to start the windshield viper myself. i am pretty sure that it should start automatic but it have never worked on my xj40 1992 vanden plas.
can anyone give a hint where the problem could be. can it be the windshield washer button or a relay?
thanx

Thinking back on the recent times Ive used the washer on my 92...... I want to say that the washer spray is independent of the wipers. I remember this because I always expect it to wipe as it sprays, but I have to flip the wipe switch. (Could be mine is broken too? but I dont think so.) I also think that the 94 will wipe 4 to 5 times when the spray is activated.

hi jerry and thanks for your reply.
i have checked the handbook and it is no information there if the wiper start when you push the washer spray. maybe it is so otherway we
both have a broken wipe switch.
i got a xj40 1994 before and that work as you mentioned here. strange that it is different for the 1992 years model.
