worth repairing?
Hi, I'm new to the XJ40 and have come across one where i live in perth, australia. It's been in a front end smash but other than this it's in lovely condition. I have never seen an interior this good and the owner claims the head was rebuilt a week before he smashed it.
Im wondering if it would be worth repairing, im sure i could find another xj40 with a good front end to use for parts.
Does anyone have any suggestions/ideas on how big a job this is? The drivers side door doesnt appear to close proplerly so i think the chassis is bent.

In my opinion sadly it has now become a parts only car.
You don't say what year it is, but that is pretty irrelevant at this point.
The photo's date from over two years ago, that should tell you something.
Not only do you have crash damage but also some pretty important rust issues.
If the guy will 'give' it to you then use it as a spares/donor car for an XJ40 with a good body/chassis.
An XJ40 with a bent chassis is finished, they are hardly worth anything even when running.
You would have a small fortune in parts + labour and would be way over what the car would then be worth.
Presumably his insurance company has already written it off.
PS I like the steering wheel.
Cheers
