XJ40 Limousines/Convertibles

RE: XJ40 Limousines/Convertibles
Hey, that would be cool. I don't think there would be many (if any) around, though. If there are some, they were probably made when the cars were relativley new, I don't think anyone would make them today since the XJ40 isn't really considered a 'classic' yet. If you find anything, though, be sure to post it here!
EDIT: I looked around and found a custom XJ40 wagon (looks kinda like an old Plymouth Horizon) and a 4-Door convertible. Here are the links:

The 40 is the last one.

Jaguar World had an article in the June 2008 issue onthe XJ40 Majestic, which if I recall was stretched and had a slightly higher roofline. A very rare indeed. See if you can get a back issue:

However... If you were to strech an 93-94Vanden Plas about 36" and add a divider, bar, and other essentials, that would make one awsome looking stretch limo. Not aware of any that were done though. I had a 36" stretch 1982 Cadillac Seville. In the eighties and that was one of the nicest stretches I've ever seen. Not too long and very balanced looking I'd think any longer on the Jag and it would look out of scale and ruin the idea.

you just went nuts with the posts there didnt cha? haha. XJ40 limo would be pretty damn cool I must say though. but why do you gotta poke fun at the XJS's? lol. I prefer the 85-99 models. As much as I like the block headlites on our xj40s what they did to the XJS of those early 90's and on just hacked them up beyond belief!!

Yes"s they are! I wouldn't go any more than about a 36" stretch on an XJ it would look bad if it were to be stretched beyond this. It is in some ways similar to the 82 Cadilllac Seville in size, and the one we had looked good. These days with ridiculous stretches, they've taken away the class of a stretch and made it tacky!!! Gotta take back my comment on the concertible XJ, I've seen a few on the web and they look pretty good. Maybe time to take the torch to my XJ as it's worthless as a keeper anyway. Then again I'm seriously thinking about getting my $6000.00 investment back bymaking the cat into a demo derby car! They're solid and it would makequite a statement in getting creamed bya Jag at a derby!!! Allows me to take out my frustrationon the cat after wasting so much money on it.

It's funny, but I don't care for the XJ40's as much as the other XJ sedans. But.....when it comes to stretching it to a limo, I think the XJ40 is far superior to the other sedans. I don't know what kind of sense that makes, but there it is. I agree, not too long of a stretch. I saw one pic of an XJ40 limo with the square headlamps and it looked awesome. The Series 3's just look goofy as limos. Looks like someone's trying too hard.

I believe Daimler Majestic versions for the XJ40s offer a much longer w/b yet higher roof .Well, I think XJ40 looks even bigger than it looks to the outside view and I see no point of extending such a beauty . I prefer 1996 Cadillac Fleetwood for livery business
