XJ40 RH indicator not working
Hi all,
I have an 89 xj40 which has a fault in the front right lamp module. I've traced the issue to the circuit board of the module, where there are some components with copper coils and a gate on them that opens and closes to allow the signal through. Each light controlled by the module, i.e. headlight, parklight has one of these. The one for the indicator doesn't appear to close enough to make the desired contact. If i hold the gate closed the indicator goes on. I'm thinking of botching this somehow as opposed to soldering a new component on the PCB. I was thinking perhaps taping a spring to it or something of the sort? I get the feeling the gate is closed via magnetic force and wonder if there is some way i could increase the force. Looking on the underside of the PCB there are some corroded looking points but shorting them out doesnt seem to help the issue... any thoughts, anyone? thanks in advance...
