XJ40 Subframe bushings
Hi All,
Does anyone out there have a handle on the scope of work involved in replacing the XJ40 front subframe bushings (the upper pad type and the rear round ones)? I am hoping this could be done without removing the frame but will go that far if it is required. During low speed turns I hear clunking and "shifting around" and it looks like one of each type is either broken or has ~1/4 inch of free play.
Thank you,
Brian

If you are talking about the bushings that fasten the suspension to the body, its not too hard, the rears sometimes are corroded so soaking with blaster will help. you will nead either a lift or jack stands to support the units. just a matter of unbolting inserting bushes and bolting back together.
