EverydayXJ is a great place to buy parts. Already got a few packages for my 1987 Vanden Plas.

Default Update

OK, I updated my profile to include my 86 XJS. If I inclueded all my cars inmy original signature it would run off the page. LOL
Just ask my wife! On second thought, that may be a bad idea!

HI, thanks for supporting this forum. I didn't know if you meant to exclude XJ8 or just forgot to list it. Here's hoping I'm included.

I think there are simply a lot of people who don't know what those designations mean or simply don't know their Jag's.

Series 1 XJ6 was made between 1968 and 1973-XJ-12's are essentially the same car in all series except for the engine, spring rate differences and a different wiring harness.
Seies 1 XJ 12s were made only in 1972-1973. About 1700 of them so they are rare cars.

All series ll XJ-6 and XJ-12 cars were from 1974 to 1979, with overlap in some markets with series lll cars. This in true Jaguar (confusing) tradition

Series lll XJ-6 and XJ-12 were made from 1979 to 1987.
In some markets the series lll XJ-12 was continued until 1992.
Series lll XJ-12's were not offered by Jaguar in the USA.

XJ-40's were made from 1986 to 1994.
These are the "square" Jags that were so polarizing.

"XJ-S and XJS" was made from 1975 to 1996.
These cars should need no explaining as they are what they are.

All other Jaguars including later XJ 6 and XJ 8 etc would seem to be discounted from the contest. They are lovely cars though, My own Brother in Florida/California has two XJ cars that are not included in this contest.
I think I read that it is only open to US citizens am I wrong on that? I have US citizenship and two US addresses so I do hope that fully qualifies me IF that is what I read. But in any case best of luck to everyone who is officially "in".

I do hope that helps anyone confused. And maybe even helps Richard?

Cheers all you Jag people.

Duane

Thank you Duane, there is a very good reason why X300 and Newer are not included at this time.

And yes the competition is open to owners of the appropriate cars from pretty much anywhere. (although shipping costs may be prohibitive when comparing sourcing parts more locally).

Excellent then! Shipping costs from the US boarder to anywhere else should be acceptable. Or just pick it up in Brooklyn New York!
Loads of fun so far.

Cheers
