What are you trying to accomplish? Are you stripping everything from the wheel forward? Are you wanting to change the pads/shoes? Bleed the brakes? Rebuild the calipers?

Best thing for you to do is grab a Haynes manual and read through the brakes section. My manual only covers XJS and XJ12 72 through 85...not sure how comparable it is to a 73 XJ6.

There's nothing complex about the operating principles of the inboard rear brakes. They're the same as any other as far as that goes. It's just that removing the calipers and rotors is very labor intensive.

Replacing the pads, though, is a walk in the park.
