I just picked up an XJ6C but I need to perform some body work on the driver's fender. I've spent a lot of time researching paint codes and colors but I'm not coming up with a conclusive result. The closest I can come is a color called Silver Sand Metallic, but it was offered in 1973. All the 1975 colors don't match. I did find another 1975 XJ that sold a few years ago that seems to have the same color as mine (shown below), so that leads me to believe it was a factory color. Any thoughts?
Are you intending doing it yourself or have it done professionally?
Some of the better paint shops have a color reading device, a bit like an IR thermometer, that tells them how to mix any color they're pointed at. This can be very advantageous because if a panel has faded and the respray is the original color as dictated by code, it can look Really Bad!

Thanks all! I agree that antelope is a contender. My cousin owns a body shop so I’ll bring it to him but first I wanted to see if anyone can pinpoint it. If was indeed resprayed they did a good job because all traces of any other color are not obvious, even under rubber mouldings, body trim, etc.
Not a series 2 colour, these are the closest colour codes> Antelope/Curlew.....RDY/DUAL & 1982 - 86 - Antelope - met AFM, 322
you check colour codes on my site with samples> http://www.jaguar-wiring-schematics....es%20lists.htm
My 86 Series 3 is in Antelope Metallic. It does look similar to yours but, as with all metallics, it does look different in different lighting conditions and in different photos.
I would describe the colour as a sandy gold, a bit like an antelope I guess !
