1984 Jaguar XJ6 not starting, cranking and firing but not starting

the fuel filter is very easy to replace. it is located in the spare tire compartment, same side as the fuel pump, Remove the carpet section of the floor, then unlock and remove the floor panel, then remove the spare tire.
just make sure the new filter is oriented the same way as the old filter and is the correct Bosch filter.
Part number E10002987BOS from CarQuest also sold as Part number F5030 at AutoZone and O'Reilly.
if you need the Service Manual, download it free at my website:

Ended up taking it to a local shop that specializes in Jaguars. ENded up being a cracked MAF hose, never saw a cracked hose in all my inspections but now she fires up and runs great so i suppose problem solved!
Thank you all for your comments, advice, and help! Glad there is a community of wonderful people who share the passion for these old beautiful, bugger of cars.

reading these posts has really helped me get another planned shot together
i will try inspecting for a cracked MAF sensor hose but first i need to know that i have all the hose to the intakes and evap and cold start system and 45 second timer right and what if i dont have the 02 sensors in no downpipe or cat would that keep it from running i would think it would only make it run rich right? does anyone by any chance have some detailed pictures of how its suppose to be every wire location plug hose pipe ect. really want to join the running XJS V12 owners.
would greatly appreciate it,
always try but never give up
