Default "1986 Jaguar XJ Series" Should I get it?

Hey guys, I am new here, and I have a question. I found a 1986 Jaguar XJ Series XJ 12 for sale, only 7K! mint body, safe/E-tested, 133,000 km, beautiful! I dont know much about Jags, save for the fact that they are beautiful cars! Is this a good buy? Are there anything wrong with this model that I should know? Why is it selling for such a low price?

Thanxxx in advance guy,
RED-XIX

If it's not rusty and runs good, it sounds like a decent price. But....a 24 year old V12 Jag is not the kind of car you buy on a whim.

I suggest reading the buyer's guide at the top of this section and post back with more questions

Cheers

If yours is a USA Ser III 6 cylinder XJ6/VDP in fair condition it won't be worth as much as a Canadian Ser III V12 VDP in fair condition. The latter is much harder to find. Jaguar only built a few hundred a year.

Neither are worth much at all if they are rusty.

My goodness, the 12 means 12 cylinders!?! in that case, I will have to pass (at least for now). Thanx guys, will keep looking. Darn it...

The V12 on the Series 3 certainly shouldn't be a deterant.... There are alot of US guys that would give their left (X) for that!
Of course it depends on the condition, but certianly worth a look....

The XJ12 is considered by alot of Jaguar enthusists to be the benchmark of the Series 3...

Have a look and report back!

The series 111 V12 Sovereign was IMO the best Jaguar ever made.
The newer shape in 1993 did not have the style that the series 111 had.
Pix of my 1988 model in 1995. My son was 5 - now 21.
I should have kept the Jaguar.
