Talking 1986 XJ6 Gullwing Coupe Conversion

So i'm waiting on a new set of water rail sensors which will hopefully remedy my rough running problem, i believe a failed sensor is causing a rich fuel mix. In the meantime while my beast has been hidden away from the nz winter rain i've been playing around on Photoshop. I ended up splicing a series 3 with a Mercedes 300 SL, they are both sexy cars but I can only afford one haha and well a gull wing xj6 coupe looks wonderful in my opinion.

So this is basically my vision: my s3 converted to a coupe with gullwing doors and an elongated bonnet to get a more proportioned sporty look. I want to make the luxury sporty brother that the series three never had. Why not use a xj6-c? well first off I dont have one and they had a shorter wheelbase that makes them look a little passive in my opinion, using the long wheel base of the sedan gives it a more sporty serious feel in my opinion.

So I hope you guys see my vision. Tell me, am I just straight delusional or is this a good/doable idea. Look forward to hearing from you.

Cheers

I have been told by those who should know, Anything is doable if you throw enough money at it.

Personally I *Like* your vision! I agree, S2 coupes are a little short for my liking, but I grew up with long cars (Chevy 9 passenger station wagons) so I freely admit my bias.

Nice C.G's. Nothing compares with realizing your dream!

I agree with the others, if your bank account can withstand the battering, then go for it!

Novel idea. Brilliant out of the box thinking. It would be technologically challenging though.

I like the sedan based version. I can tell you from experience the coupe roof is just along for the ride and offers little to no structurally integrity. Hanging two heavy door off of it would require lots of additional metal. Both the sedan and coupe would require a large center rib to hang the doors and integrated roof.

It would be ideal to make new doors frame fabricated out of Aluminium or fiberglass. Hanging a heavy steel door with it large glass area off of over head hing would require a aesthetic killing large frame.
