1987 XJ6 dash guages working again!!!
I recently had my all of my dashboard guages quit working all at the same time....every one of them.
If yours do the same for no apparent reason, heres the fix I used to restore them to a working state again. The fix is from Doug Dwyer.
Remove your driverside fuse cover (left hand drive for me) On the fuse door is a listing of the fuses (on mine anyway)
Turn the key to the on position, or simply start the car (that's what I did)Locate the number that relates to the trip computer. Yes...trip computer, there is no fuse listing for the guages (well played Jaguar, well played indeed). Once located, slide the fuse up and down to see if the trip computer lights up. If not, replace the fuse.
When my trip computer lit up, ALL my guages came back to life.
If this doesn't work for you, type "All my guages stopped working at the same time" in the search to follow my original thread for other repair suggestions from the good folks on the forum....:i con_banana:

I developed a similar technique for the head light fuses under the bonnet. I call it the finger roll. Named after the famous shot of a long past center on the LA Laker basketball team. Just roll the fuses with a finger in their cradles. Works just fine!!!
Caveat; The end caps on the fuses may be loose and the issue will return! A thirty year old fuse deserves to be retired!!
