Hello all!

I have a late-manufactured Series 3 which has it's factory master cylinder slightly different than earlier series 3 cars, meaning the factory shop manual AND the Haynes manual don't have direct or clear direction on the seal replacement direction. I took care to sketch the seals, but now am second guessing myself on the direction of the first seal on the secondary piston.

Right now EVERY seal has the "lip" pointing inward, or toward the front of the master cylinder, on both the primary and secondary piston. On the "spring" side of both pistons, it's easy as the seals can't be reversed due to the way the clips fit in.

Also, unfortunately there is a Youtube video where the gentleman clearly reassembled the piston seals incorrectly (although someone corrected him in the comments), and I can't find a diagram for this later-style cylinder.

Would any experts be willing to weigh in and confirm that the lips of every seal should point inward, toward the front of the master cylinder, or do I need to reverse the seal on the #3 position to have the lip face toward the back of the cylinder?

I have a (very) late Series 2 with the same MBC as on the picture (probably a replacement) Just rebuilt it with the seals in place like shown a few days ago. It works perfect so far.
