Moving on to my.next issue... the PO of the lt1 has swapped out the injectors from the stock 24 lbs to 42 lbs, that not an issue in and of itself, however. One is clogged, didnt realize they were high performance injectors, and sont know if the PO had retuned the pcm for them..
so when I sent the pcm off for a tune I said stock injectors. Now I need to find out if he changed someone elses.tune back to stock injectors or simply left alone as it would Normally mean. NO change to that portion of programming.. now I have to wait to see what my tuner did.. do I buy 8 stock injectors or send my 8 high performance ones out to be cleaned???

It's always something!!

A couple of untested ideasl

1. Speak with Andrew Weinberg of Jaguar=Specialties. Master swapper and nice guy. Advertises here and posts here.

2. consult with the guy you sent the PCM to for adjustment.

3. The real means to adjust the fuel map in the PCM is on the dyno and with sniff equipment.

4. Were it I. I would use the stock fuel map in the pCM and a fresh set or rebuilt setoff stock injectors.

5. A stock LT1 in good fettle has plenty of go for ordinary use. Competition is another thing,

I agree with Carl.

I am talking to the people at Fuel Injection Connection (online) as I had bought a set of 26lb injectors and asked them about tuning, etc. Their opinion made sense to me; if your engine is stock or very nearly stock, stay with stock injectors/tune. I think I've read that stock 24lb injectors will support about 450hp. I now have a NIB set of 26lb injectors that will sit on the shelf and collect dust.

Good luck.

I have an email into the guy who tuned it, awaiting response. If pulse width was adjusted by the PO then the 42 lb injectors although overkill will not be problem, however if he just put them on and didnt adjust for them then they will be overfueiling, I have no problem either way, just want injectors to match what pcm thinks they are so they work properly...

Aye, I use a note book and a clip board...

No spare TV's around here. I do have a small lap top and an extra monitor. Hmm. Each little, if any use. Garage??

time for Megasquirt, fully adjustable from idle to 10,000rpm! under all load conditions and manifold pressures(turbo etc!).
has many useful features! like self tuning.

I have looked into megasquirt, also the LS style coil on plug, but for right now i think i just want to get it running properly and get some miles on it... its been taking up space since about November, time for me to enjoy it a little.
i heard back from my tuner, and he says if it wasnt tuned to the 42 lb injectors it would be running pig rich.. so all i need to do is add some pipes to downpipes so that 02 isnt right Near end and just run it and see what o2s are saying.. this aldl/ usb cable is the best thing since sliced bread.. along with free program scan9495 it lets me view all sorts of things going on...
guess its also time to start a new thread called lumped..
