Default Air Flow Meter Questions

Hello everyone, I want to say thanks again for everyone who has helped me on this forum so far! I have finally been able to diagnose the issue with my 87 xj6. I believe it to be the air flow meter as the car runs very rough at times despite many new parts, car will idle at about 300 rpm and then back up to normal, as well as many other things that I have spoken about on this forum. So the air flow meter will stick at times causing the engine to stall when I drive (usually after letting my foot off the gas), or will begin to drop rpms but usually I get on the gas and it will run fine again. So with it sticking I attempted to oil up the hinges on the inside (lightly I didnt douse the unit in fluid) and it will help it for a short time before it begins to stick again. I popped off the top of the unit and the thing looks genuinely brand new, like not a spec of dust or any sign of corrosion. Im wondering if anyone has had this problem and has been able to fix it or if anyone has any advice on how to aquire a new one. Currently in the US I have seen only one for sale and its about 800 bucks and that is a bit much to pay for a project right now. Any help would be greatly appreciated once again! Thank you!
