AJ6 engine short power loss/jerk when driving.

Hello,
I am here from XJS forum, but very few XJS with AJ6 3.6 engine there... I think many of XJ6 have the same AJ6 engine so hopefully you will let me in on some AJ6 secrets :-)
My problem is that when I drive and take foot off gas and then give it some gas again car looses power for a split second before starting to accelerate. It makes unpleasant 'jerk' in the drivetrain, pretty annoying... just to clarify, I am not talking about totally 'of gas - engine break - give gas sequence', under normal driving when I 'ease' throttle to the point car just rolls and when I give some back for split second it kinda cuts-off(with engine breaking for that split second) and then accelerates .
I have to admit that I 'screwed in' the throttle stopper bolt a little to bring idle a little down. perhaps I screwed it too far? Is there a right procedure how to tune throttle mechanism? I see there are few adjustments beside the stopper bolt that can be done. (there are also two bolts that allow to rotate top part of assembly)
Any ideas where I should look for the problem?
Thank you.

NJ,
The AJ6 engine was never installed in Series I, II and III XJ6's and '12's, the subject of this forum, with the exception of a few stalwart souls who have done conversions to that engine.
However, the following generation of XJ which is known as XJ40 used the AJ6 at inception, so you should find plenty of information and suggestions in that forum.
Best of luck to you. It sounds as if an adjustment or two might set you right.
Andrew.
