Default All gauges not working

Took my dash apart on my 1983 XJ6 to replace it with a newer one. The install was a success however none of my instrument gauges work now. The bulbs work fine but the gauges are not showing life. Car runs and drives fine. Can someone please advise? Thanks!

One thing all the gauges have in common is that get 12v switched power from fuse #4...so you might wanna start there.

If the fuse is OK see if there's voltage to the green wire that goes to all the gauges. If not one of the harness connectors is probably disconnected.

Cheers

Your answer is in your first sentence. Something did not get properly re-connected when you put the dash back together, or maybe you popped a fuse. Re-check your work and make sure everything is connected properly and no fuses are blown.

Got all the gauges working! The only problem I have now is with my fuel gauge. When I start the car the pin moves all the way to the right (on full) and stays there even though the gas tank is much less than full. I drove the car around for a week and the needle doesn't move from the full position. It worked fine prior to me removing and replacing the dash. All the other gauges work fine. Any suggestions? Thanks!

You most likely have something on that gauge grounded that shouldn't be...
or maybe just have the wires connected to the wrong terminals...
