I’ve got my dashboard back and would like to swap it over for the one in the car. I have the following instructions and would like to know if any additional advice or things to watch you could add. I know Elinor you have done this on your series 2 any suggestions appreciated……I have seen a video from a series 3 and it’s probably similar. The biggest difference to the video appears to be that removal of the dash has all the gauges in it……thanks all.

I might add this advice as I have done it also - be careful of the fit of the glove box door. Make sure in adjusting it on the top and sides that you can fit a credit card in the gap all the way around. Bend things if you have to, to ensure you are providing a good gap. Otherwise, if it binds in the future, it will lift small pieces of lacquer or veneer or whatever.

Just follow the manuals advice/instructions.
I have done this job a number of times.
The series 2 and series 3 are pretty similar.
The only difference is in the annunciator panel between the speedo and tacho.
I had a series 2 running around with a series 3 dash cover for years and nobody noticed.
Great to see the re-paint looking so good.

But I have in hand as of mail time today a Brand New Old Stock switch that's even the correct part number.
I have to cart husband to one of his staff of doctors tomorrow so switch won't get finished until his latest medical adventure is resolved, but that's what I get for marrying an Older Man.

Jim
The whole dash assembly comes out ie facia and metal.
Remove gauges etc. on the bench as well as old facia.
Reassemble with the new facia and then insert the gauges.
Reverse extraction order to refit into the car.
About the only difference between a S2 and S3 is the speedo cable which theS3 does not have.
This is my now departed S2 with a S3 dash cover.
