Default Best u-joint source?

Hello,

I'm the proud new owner of a 1982 XJ6. Amazingly I purchased this Jag not running and, after an ignition switch repair, I'm now driving this all-original 82 daily. Ok, it's only two days but still!

I have what appears to be an early failure stage u-joint on the outer passenger side.

What brand is your recommendation for this part? Best source?

Thanks in advance!

I like Dana-Spicer UJs when I can find 'em....but usually I have to order them. Nobody in my areas carries them on the shelf.....at least not under the "Dana-Spicer" label.

I've also had perfectly good results with whatever NAPA sells.

Cheers

Hey Jig Jag...
I may have a few on hand... And if not, I have a ton of other stuff for your car...
Best part, I'm only about 30 miles North of Charlotte (near Concord)...
Check out my site, or give me a call sometime... (704-796-9902)..
I'd be glad to talk to you about your XJ...

Cheers

Default Best U-joint source

Northern Drivetrain, LLC

For Spicer U-Joints, I used these folks for my '77 XJ12L u-joints.

I went with "no zerks". U-joints without zerks are stronger. Spicer u-joints are pre-grease with a new synthetic grease. Instructions indicate - do not add grease.

Grease does not get sprayed out of the u-joints from over greasing.

David,

This is fantastic! I'm glad to see there's a Jag parts source so close by!

I definitely want to come by and check out your operation. I think the U will hold out for a trip up to Concord. In the meantime I'll give you a call. I'd love a chat with someone more knowledgeable!

let me know if you have one available! I'd rather not source from NAPA unless necessary.

Thanks so much!
Paul

Hello,

I have to replace the u-joints on my series 1 jag too.
Do someone know which type of Dana-Spicer I need?
Or maybe the type of GKN joints?
