Default bubbling fuel

I have an odd issue. I drive my 1987 xj6 50 miles each way to work everyday at around 75-80mph (its 430am!) With no issues. For the last 3 days when i drive home and get off the freeway (30 minutes at 75mph) i have smelt fuel. When i get out to investigate i can hear bubbling in the left tank. I open it and have fuel spitting out and bubbling like boiling water. I am on 1/8 tank and know that this is reasonably accurate. I pushed down on the flap just inside the tank and it slowly settles down. The car runs perfectly and starts well. I have run off each tank but only the left side does this. Once in a while i was getting a vacuum in the tank and trying to figure this issue out (the one way valve behind the right front tyre is good )i disconnected the charcoal canister at the one way valve and have been driving it disconnected for few days. Any thoughts? Only happens when i come home, not in mornings??

I'd suggest opening the filler cap while the left tank is active and listen for the return fuel. Then compare against right side

I see fuel flow on left as it should under flapper inside tank when left tank selected, non on right side and vise versa when right tank selected. Any other thoughts?
