BW66 Shift points

An update on my up-shifts with my BW66 transmission. It has escaped me all along that the shift points have to do with the rear end ratio you are running. I have a 3.31:1 ratio and when my BW65 was swapped out for the BW66, I found out the BW66 came out of a car with a 3.07:1 ratio. And the speedometer gearing proves that as their are only 12 teeth on the gear in the tranny and it should be 13. So that bears out that it came out of a car with a 3.07 rear end. So I believe the up-shift points are low because of that. However... you all say that the downshift/TV cable controls the pressure for the shift points (including up-shifts) so the transmission doesn't really know what rear end ratio it is driving?

The transmission doesn't know the final drive ratio or vehicle speed. It only knows pressure and governor speed.
Look at what RPM your shifts are occurring at
Under full throttle my old Series III would shift right at 4800-5000 RPM, which corresponded to 50 and 80 mph, as I recall. I had the 2.88 final drive
Anyhow, if yours shifts at 4500-5000 RPM, that's probably "within specification".
Cheers
