I recently applied and received a JDHT certificate for my V12 VDP and it said under original distributor and dealer "Jaguar Cars Canada ULC".

Also I had a friend at his dealer run the VIN and it says under first registration Ontario Ministry of Transportation. What does this mean? I'm just trying to gather more history of my car. Thanks.

 

Jaguar Canada is the national distributor and sales organization, the Canadian branch of the factory sales team if you like. Jaguar Canada ordered the cars from Jaguar in Coventry and then distributed them to the various dealers in the country, who then in turn sold the cars to retail customers.

All cars in Canada are registered by the provincial authority, that's who will issue a registration and license plate to the owner of the car. So a first registration by The Ontario Ministry of Transportation means that the first province the car was registered/licensed was in Ontario. Odds are it was sold in Toronto, but there were other Jaguar Dealers in Ontario at the time, I believe at least Oakville and Ottawa. Jaguar on Bay in Toronto was the largest dealer in Canada at the time.
