Default Centering Steering Rack

I read the write up about centering the steering rack in which it said to stick a ice pick through a hole under the steering rack. I can't find such a hole???

Roger to the rescue! Thanks Roger.

Wasn't expecting that...thought this was for centering the rack on the crossmember, which made little sense given the bushing mounts.

That is the "luxury" of having the Jag Parts and Service Manual CD...

download the service manual boys!

I have all 15 sections in my website.

For Series 3. 1979 1/2 to 1987. (sounds like Harry Potter's 33 1/4 doesn't it?)

I centered mine last night. The butt end of a 3/16" drill bit drops in very nicely. And yes mine is a grease nipple but I can find nothing in my service guide as to how much and how often to pump grease into it?
