Default Central locking now works

Ok, so when i bought the car, series 3 xj6, the central locking was not working. All doors locked & unlocked individually but not all together.
Today i was mucking around in behind the stereo fitting a new aerial lead & bugger me the central locking is now working??????????????
I did do a bit of a double take & checked it by locking & unlocking it again about 6 times to convince myself but it is definitely now working.
Anyone have an opinion as to why?
Very happy that it's working but curious to find out how i did it lol.

Unless you were in the fuse panels, no not really. In some models the doors go through an inline fuse (location = dunno) and in most its in a fuse panle. It could be that the trigger unit in the drivers door decided to start working with a bit of exercise. I recently had my hazard lights suddenly start working after I left them on for a few hours accidentally.

Download the S57 wiring diagrams if you are doing this kind of work , they are great.

Others may see a connection that I dont. My sig line applies I think :-)

HAHA, stupid me.
It came to me at about 2am this morning.
The car has a battery isolator on it & yesterday was the 1st time i had locked the car with the battery still "live".
Tried it again just now & yep, works with the battery live, doesn't work when isolated.
More tinkering needed here, i think i am beginning to really like this car.

excellent, good to know why rather than it being a random or intermittent thing.
