Default Coil wiring.

Hi all, having a bit of trouble with the wiring on my new coil. This is going on a series 2, 4.2. The new coil came with a ballast resistor attached to it and a jumper wire from the + on the resistor to the + on the coil. My old set up didn't have this. Also the old ballast resistor isn't marked + or -. Any assistance greatly appreciated.

Further to this, after studying the wiring diagram I don't think I need the additional jumper wire that came with the new coil. Can anyone confirm I can just remove it?

thanks Tom. It was the little black jumper wire that confused me. Looks like I can just remove it.

now i see what you were talking about, the maker would have fitted that to be certain it would be fitted correctly
.i'd be moving that ballast off the coil to cut down on heat
