cold start injector
just replaced cold start injector on xj6 series 3. good voltage from thermotime switch, replaced with new injector. my question. should i expect immediate starts in cold weather or not so much. i still have to crank a bit. is this normal operation, or should i look deeper. perhaps i'm expecting too much. any thoughts. thanks

How cold is 'cold' ? How much cranking does it take?
My experience is that these cars are not usually instant starters. But if you count 'thousand one, thousand two, thousand three' while cranking, it should be running before you get to 'four'.
More than that might merit investigation although a single identifiable fault isn't always to be found.
Sometimes the fuel rail will lose pressure overnight. Try this before next cold start attempt: Put the gearshift in "D" and turn the key to 'start' for a few seconds. The starter will not turn but the fuel pump should operate, pressuring the fuel system. If the engine is significantly easier to start then you have a fuel drain back problem.
Of course there might be other issues
