Jaguar used both 82ēC and 88ēC thermostats in the Series II and III cars....suggesting that's where they would like it to run....which happens to be the same as a vast array of other cars.

If I had to pick a single number I'd say 88ēC

Cheers

I think the last place I had it in at took that thermostat out. With the weather being cooler now the never gets up to normal running temp which I don't think is good. I have ordered a thermostat from SNG Barret and plan to install when it comes in. I assume I just drain off some coolent before opening things up.

No thermostat not a good thing. My lump runs at about 90C.
GM reverse flow cooling. An emsions thing. I could put in a cooler
T'stat and remove the hot water intake heat and get some more beans. But, it has plenty as it is...

Factory engineers are pretty smart.

Gonna do a remote diagnostic with one on my cold tankless water heater. Warranty???
