Dash board delete
Hey Guys, Looking for a little guidance. I'm currently in the process of designing my interiors on my XJ6. I'd like to eliminate all components that aren't a requirement for the car to run and function correctly that way I can do a aluminum dash panel with as little buttons and switches as possible. Its also a vehicle that only runs in the summer so heater vents, switches, radio, I have a fuel cell so fuel tank button, everything.
Knowing nothing about wiring, whats the first step in determining what needs to stay. Any advice on the topic would be great. Anything on bar minimum wiring, what people have done in the past. Stereo is completely removed, battery is relocated to the trunk, considering a digital dash. ECU upgrade?

Street legal yes. Is there a harness you suggest? I didn't necessarily think of replacing the harness but if it makes this easier I would yes. I also plan on doing an LS swap down the road. The Holley digital dash can be wired as a stand alone and then also be a plug and play for the LS swap.

Aftermarket Harness
No recommendations here! I am using a Painless Pro Street 21 circuit on my MK2. What you discover is you begin marrying brands of harness, switches, gauges, and OEM, etc. It's a GM based, left hand fuse block harness. And of course my fuse panel is on the right. Pictures under my main post under the MK2's.

Reviewed you post. If you are gutting wiring, be sure of what you want to keep and marry to an aftermarket harness. I thought the painless would be simple. Nothing about wiring is simple. Also look at Ron Francis. Order their catalogue. It's easier to follow then catalogue, then reference their website.
Painless web side is good as are their pdf's.
Not sure if I am answering your question.
