An aside Elinor,
If you look closely at the rear 3/4 area where the flank or' hip' kicks over the rear wheel of the xj6 you will see a very interesting similarity with the same area of an xke.
An aspect of the xj6 which was kept from an earlier design brief for a four door xke but which ended up morphing into the xj6.
So although a member or 2 may own an xke here, we all have a bit of xke in our pride and joys.

The rise at the hip (right over the rear wheel arches) is a signature Jaguar design cue. I read somewhere long ago that Jaguar intended it to emulate a big cat with "haunches loaded" and ready to pounce. Maybe guys just see something more evocative in it!
It's on most models, some more obvious and others like the XJ's are more subtle. The only models I personally can't see it on are S type (1960's) and XJS. It carries over to the F Type (very clearly), but no other new generation models - maybe that's why the current offerings do nothing for me...
