It's a very long time since I had the wings off an XJ6, 1991, I think it was during a refurb job on a Series 3, (almost a rebuild but not quite !). As I recall, the front doors have to come off to get at all the bolts. There is also a closing panel at the rear of the wheel arch that must be removed to get to the bolts holding the wing at the rear lower corner. There are also two bolts per side securing the front valance to each wing. Getting these wings off is not a simple job, but I did manage it !
