Electrical Plug under Throttle Body - What is this?
4.2L XK engine from an 84 XJ6, late EFI.
I managed to tear out the wires that plug into the bottom of the throttle body. The plug has three pins but only two are used--the center and the right-hand side (looking at the throttle body). Both wires are yellow.
1. What is this? What are the wires going to?
2. Since both wires are the same color, does it matter if they get reversed? Both disappear into a wiring harness so there's no good way for me to trace them.
I'm looking through the electrical books but stuggling.
TIA,
-James

It's a throttle position switch which signals the ECU to richen the mixture when the throttle is opened xxx-amount.
According to the S57 diagram it just an open-closed switch so it shouldn't matter which way the wires are connected. The wire colors should be yellow/red and yellow/white according to the diagrams
Cheers
