Default Pre filter

I was reading about filters. I guess they are rated in microns that they trap. I also read that in some racing applications, a pre-filter as we are discussing is used that only traps larger particles - say 100 microns. This is usually a cleanable filter. Makes sense to me.

My xjc is done that way, with oem sbc fuel pump. Works fine usually but if you park on an incline for long it will transfer fuel from the high side tank to the low side, and may overflow all over the rear quarter. Not to mention a severe fire hazard.

Wow. So much for that good idea. Thanks for sharing that - sooner or later I would probably have tried that. I think I'll stick to the original system.

Default Glass see-thru filter in engine compartment

Just aft and inboard of the rear carb is my glass, unscrewable, cleanable fuel filter. Love it because, not only can I see what's going on, but it looks great as well.

Hey you have some cool mods to your engine compartment there. A serious + battery cable, I like the throttle cable system, the fuel filter is good too.

Too much battery cable but since I ordered it, it went on. Those dual yellow cables are actually manual choke cables. Throttle is to the left of them with the yellow boot. Twin 11" electric fans, aluminum radiator, etc., etc. I will do a post of all the work when I can take more pics.
