Flashing red coolant light
My beloved 1982 XJ6 leaked a bit of coolant. I bought some coolant, and have fed it around a gallon, and decided to just fix the leak.
I tightened the radiator hoses and saw a smaller hose that connects the bottom of the radiator to the bottom of the fill tank (the brown tank on the driver's side).
I saw tell tale streaks of coolant on that smaller hose, up by the brown tank. I removed that upper part of the hose, trimmed .5 inches off, and reconnected it. I believe the leak has stopped, but now the idiot light flashes like I'm low on coolant (but I am not). Did I accidentally disrupt some electric wiring?

Most likely. There is a sensor in that tank....with an almost hidden wire. It probably got knocked off the terminal. Take a hard look around....you'll probably find that the wire is off and dropped down into the shadows
