French gauges?

French gauges?
I removed all gauges to clean them and all 4 small gauges say "Made in France". No brand name.
Can't remove the bezels to clean the inside of the glass. I tried turning the bezels clockwise and counterclockwise but no luck, the entire bezel looks "machine folded over" on the back of each gauge, no tabs or notches, as if sealed forever.
This is the first time I do this so I was not aware the gauges were french or sealed.
(the speedo and tachometer are Smiths UK and the bezels are easy to turn and remove).
However, in the Series 2 XJ, the small gauges are Smiths UK. I know because I have a few Series 2 gauges.
Does anyone know of a way to remove the bezels on these french gauges? I assume all Series 3 have the same ones.
Also I am going to replace the knurled nuts with wing nuts. It was a p.i.t.a. to remove those knurled nuts. My fingers hurt. There is no leverage back there to turn those knurled nuts as tight as they were.

They're "Veglia" brand. Circa 1982-83 Jaguar began transitioning to Veglia instruments for the Series III cars. The parent company is (or was?) Veglia Borletti, an Italian company, but apparently with manufacturing facilities in France.
You can open them up by de-crimping the edges of the bezels, gently. It's a little tricky, and the bezels are very soft and easily distorted. if you bollix one up it isn't a huge problem as used replacement gauges are a dime a dozen.
