Fuel pressure

Fuel pressure
The shop manual states that the fuel pump is engaged for a few seconds when ignition is switched on. With a gage installed in the line I noticed that the pressure is hardly moved in a second. When you start to crank the pressure then goes up. Is there a way to change the wiring so that the fuel pump continues running with only ignition switched on? My car is slow to start when cold. It won't start until the pressure gets up to almost 30PSI. This takes time and is hard on the starter. If you could prime the fuel system and get the pressure up before cranking I think the engine would start with far less cranking. '77 V12 pre HE engine

That timer is inside the ECU, so best left as is.
1) Ign ON and OFF 3 times will prime that sytem.
2) Once that 3 is done with, and ign is ON, push the gas pedal to floor and release. No need to be silly with this, just press it down and let it up. This will "fire" the injectors, and "squirt" a dose of go juice into the beast.
3) Go for start.
Also works on the HE and is a good assist with "hot starts" as well.
Saves that starter motor a heap.
I reckon you got a tired pump by the way.
