Fuel pump measurement request
Hi all -
Bought a replacement fuel pump for my SIII and although it is very well built (in the US too !) of all heavy aluminum body and not a piece of plastic to be seen.... it seems to me a bit small in diameter. I am not near my car and was hoping someone who is could send me the rough diameter of the OEM pump. The one I bought measures about 1 3/4".
It is a Denso pump listed under the 6 or 8 available on Rock auto. Not a cheapy but not the most expensive.
Thanks - Randy

Update on the fuel pump I bought from Rock auto. It was a Denso and built like a tank. All machined aluminum and no plastic at all. But it was about a 1/2" smaller in diameter once I could compare to the old one. But it came with a hard foam sleeve what when slid on made it the right size. Then using existing foam rings, she fit perfectly in the existing filter clamp. BTW, the old pump would not spin at all either way I connected +/- to the posts from a good battery.

Still putting together fuel sys... if I can find bloody decent FI hose clamps in this town. Advance Auto is based in Raleigh and they have 90 gazillion sq ft warehouse at the store I stopped. All they had were cheap *** Chinese junk clamps that were too small
I use Norma and can’t find them retail anywhere 😡

Lots of variations on F.I. hose clamps. The key thing is that they are smooth on the inside.

NAPA ...at least the store close to me....sells a smooth clamp but you have to ask for'em.
Lots of junk out there. Good stuff is expensive. You won't get the good stuff by paying 69-cents each. Order what you need in advance because the good stuff isn't always stocked at the typical parts stores
