There was a guy named Brill on here a while ago, parting out a Series I XJ6. Might want to search for him, and David Boger. That being said, used gas tanks for Series I-III are usually as bad as the ones you are replacing.

Thanks! I think I located a pair from an "86" I'm checking now to see if they'll match up.

They won't, to the best of my knowledge. And if they are used '86 tanks, they are likely to be junk too.

I looked on this site www.spectrapremium.com and the pictures of new replacements looked the same. The first is "74"

Look on Motorcars Ltd and see what they have listed. They are a site sponsor.

I checked them out yesterday they were $130.00 over the one I listed for reconditioned units.

This might seem off thee wall but ALL of the jaguars I own have had rust in the tank do to a VERY poor design on the gas tank and the filler. To prevent water and other things getting into your tank from 69 and up use a 1985-87 xj6 filler and take off your old ones and REMEMBER always to replace that rubber seal that is ALWAYS the problem. The older jags 69-81 " all I own at the moment" have had the fillers to shallow and so when the drain line gets glogged you get water in your tank and you begin to rust around the filler and wheel wells. Easy fix here people you can even make the rubber gasket from Bath tubb rubber pads from home dept
