Hello, I wanted to revive this thread to ask for some recent experience from any of you on Furflex options and providers? I'm considering the aftermarket option from Welsh Enterprises that Doug tried.

I had to remove the furflex along the tops of the doors and A and C pillar in my 87 SIII when replacing the headliner. On my '87 and maybe most SIII cars, the pieces that run up and down the B pillar are a different design, more of a basic U shape, than the furry style that runs along the A and C pillars and tops of the doors along the edge of the headliner. In trying to reinstall the furflex, the component that serves to grip the pinch welds (I've seen it referred to as 'chicken wire' of sorts) has given up the ghost in many areas so it simply won't grip even after much manipulation. And the furry part of it is also delaminating from the rest of it. The headliner replacement has been a pretty tedious job, and now the furflex is adding to the fun. After several attempts, I'm at the point of giving up on reusing what I have, and finding an option that will stay in place once in there.

From a quick survey of what's out there, there seem to be some aftermarket options available from Welsh and Terry's Jaguar in the range of $130, SNG is supplying Aldridge Trimmings product for about $175 and then World Upholstery and Jagbits have options over $300. Although I don't need to replace the stuff on the b-pillars it seems all of these only come in the complete kit. Luckily, I need it in black which is the predominant option. So any input is welcomed. I will give an update once I select one and get it installed. Thanks in advance.

Have you checked MacGregor?

Actually, NVM. They don't have them.
