FWD Crankshaft seal replacement
Good evening,
Developed a forward crankshaft seal leak and I'm looking for advice on removing the harmonic balancer cone from the crankshaft.
The balancer itself popped right off with a balancer puller but now I'm looking at a cone.
Do these just ;-) pull off with a 3-jaw or are other methods to be employed?
Second,
How common is sump to not match the block in regards to the seal housing?
Have already purchased new style a teflon seal but maybe there's something else going on here?
Thank you

Drain oil and remove oil pan, At this point you can get behind cone shaped portion of balancer and remove, Remove woodruff key, remove spacer in crank seal. The crank seal will now drop down and twist out. Clean area where crank seal slipped out. apply sealant and install crank seal. Push seal fully into it's channel and install spacer. Install woodruff key. Install cone. reinstall oil pan with fresh gaskets.
Thank you.
