Default It Lives! woah thats a big picture.

The windows are quite the party trick

It's too smooth, my co-driver keeps nodding off!

First drive without any unwanted drama.
Sorted out the Opus, Kept the Reed switch, Amp, etc. Very humbling this car. Super satisfied now though! What a Beaut!

Far out

Congratulations on success. Great looking Jag...especially in that picturesque setting.

Your sleeping co-driving brings back pleasant memories of my own co-drivers asleep in my Jags. They're all grown now. They drive and I'm the one nodding off

Cheers
DD

Yes the wife's patience was seriously tested by my "motivation", she calls it something else though just not around the kids.

Thanks for the props, At my lowest I was seriously tempted a to sell it not running or lump it and slink off the forum. But by God what kind of quitter would I have been then! Forward for the Queen!

Sorry I'm still pretty excited.

Does she not understand this is how things get DONE? and she doesn't have a half finished project to look at for months or even Years? You Could have been spending all that time and money in the bars somewhere!

There have been times, Recently, when, if someone offered me $50 for Nix I would have gladly taken it and not looked back.

But by God what kind of quitter would I have been then!
That's what keeps most of us going; consummate stubbornness and sheer DRIVE.

any one know what cars had the reservoir mounted on the MC itself???

I greatly admire your garage find--particularly that it has a matching painted roof--and your dogged persistence leading to glorious success. Now I just have to contain my jealousy!

I hope this news helps slay the green monster at least...the car stopped charging today. Luckily my sense of humor tank got topped up on the voyage yesterday.

I recall that noted Jaguar conniseur (sp) related the apparent wisdom of spouses.
The wise woman would prefer hers to caress the flanks of their Jaguar, in lieu of those of another woman.

Way back when, I worked at a gas station. Old name. A bay was leased by an older mechanic. In actuality, a school mates dad. He, the dad had a pal. At about 4 PM when work was done, the pal would drop in with a bottle of whiskey. Each spouse understood. Better there than "out and about".

A beautiful car, and that engine bay, whow !

Sir William Lyons himself insisted that the rear windows had to disappear. So they dance a little jig to get positioned into the available space. Much time was spend getting the seal between the two windows closed up so water didn't get in, or noise for that matter. Springs are used to press the rear window against the front, at least that's how I understand it works.

And after all the trouble and expense, Jaguar only made about 11,000 cars, most Jaguars but a few Daimler versions.

Same color combo as my Xj6C. Sable over cinnamon. Looks like your vinyl top has been deleted at some point with a respray. Dd the euro bumper conversion and 7 inch headlamps on mine, highly recommend the improved look.

does anyone notice that the 80yr old RR coupe looks more modern streamline than the 1975 Jaguar XJ coupe?

question; did we move forward or backwards in car Art-Deco designs, in that late 1930s era??

Default Deco Rolls

Ron,

My grandson and I got a close look at that Art Deco Roller at the Peterson, a couple years ago. It was in the basement at the time so no photos allowed but our tour guide was the curator and he opened one of those outrageous round doors for us. They swivel from the center! That Rolls was very controversial due to its hitherto-unheard-of sloped radiator shell.

Jaguar content: Also in the basement at the time were a Jaguar XJ220 and McQueen's XK-SS along with Saddam Hussein's Merc limo and lots of other rarities. A most enjoyable visit.
