I will post 60 foot times and 1/4 times as soon as I run it. I need to weigh it, I might weigh it this week!

dont know how it would be that weight!

a standard series 3 V12 weighs around 4100/4200lbs

a cast iron Chevy SBC weights a around 525lbs.

that figures about 3575/3600lbs, yup i think 3600 lbs.

find some scales that you know are accurate(hopefully digital),some places charge $5.00 bucks and give you a certified weight slip!

should be respectable times tho.

you mention the phrase "going thru the lights" thats going thru the speed measuring trap lights at the end of the 1/4 mile.

also a good place to data log your boost and rpm,ETC. good for tuning later info.

many charts and info theory on line, for better tuning.

good luck with it!

A 1983 XJ6 has a curb weight of around 4000lbs, 1983 Jaguar XJ6 (since mid-year 1982 for North America U.S.) specs review

In his newbie thread, he claims dyno numbers of "420/620 rear wheel on low boost". I don't know much more about the engine. But with that big turbo, etc., I doubt the curb weight is much lower, so let's call it 3800lb.

With those Mickey Thompon's, he's going to hook up really well, so his ET won't suffer. Key thing will be the "trap speed" (MPH at the end of the 1/4 mile). If it's 420 HP at the wheels, look for 12.0 ET at around 113mph. But he could do significantly better if he turns up the boost.

I'm going on a lot of assumptions here, but either way, it's going to be fun!

Default My guess was without any of his information..just visual

First pass was my guess at 13.50... Jags/IRS in general, do not make good drag racers... just having drag slicks does not mean "he will hook up"...

Will be interesting to see his times... over several runs he should figure out the best way to launch...

With a turbo's SBC that car should do low 12's high 11's depending on how it hooks...if not something is very very wrong with the setup. That intake is proven good for 520+ HP with a mid range cam normally aspirated. 600 HP under pressure should be easily attainable.

As delivered from the factory the Jag IRS is not idea for drag racing...however the addition of an Eaton / Auburn center section, upgraded U-Joints and an application of one of the many simple ways to limit cage twist will make the Jag IRS and drag strip hero.

Made 630 rwhp and 675 lb torque @ 14 psi on dyno last time out. I have a AMS 1000 co2 boost controller. I got it set up to launch @ 6 psi. and ramp up set up by time based.

Very nice setup. In that case, you should be looking at trap speeds of 125+ and hopefully a 10-second time slip.

Tell us about your tranny, rear end, and gearing. Also, when are you going?

Padre

P.S. Here's my best 10-second run, something to shoot for:

Turbo400 manual valve body, 2600 stall built by Godley transmissions (1000hp). Built Jag Irs 2.88 turbo loves that gear ratio. I hope to go soon.

.

a lot of work and money for jag IRS, may as well put a Ford 9" solid axle in it.

probably never gonna be a road course racer anyway!

most Jag IRS when launching, the outside of the rear tires lift, and the inside of the tire is the only thing getting any hook, i have some long black strips in my driveway showing just that!

it was for yrs guys trying to hook up an IRS when under HARD acceleration, some have done it ,but not with the unusual JAG type IRS!
