Default Getting shifty with an XJ6 or XJ6C.......

Hello all, this is Andrew from Jaguar Specialties. I hope things are good and we’re (I am sure) looking to a summer of fun with our cars….

Note- this is not a solicitation to buy anything, just a technical tidbit....

Over the past couple of years we started getting more and more requests from GM conversion customers looking to use a manual trans instead of automatic for their XJ6 and XJS cars. Most often this was to go with a 6 speed manual trans like the T56 (6 speed) or some version of it (as used in the 98-02 Camaro, 04-06 GTO, and also the Cadillac CTSV and 10-14 Camaro). One small challenge for these enthusiasts is of course finding a manual pedal box for the car (with a clutch pedal and clutch master cylinder mount), and the offerings out there from drop in complete units to self-modify kits were somewhat hit and miss. (and expensive). I decided we could take this on (and at a reasonable price too) so about a year ago we began offering manual pedal box units, ready to drop in, for all XJS models. Those have been pretty well received, and to take the next step, we have recently tooled up to offer complete manual pedal box units for 74-87 XJ6 XJ6C XJ12 and XJ12C cars as well (units for 70-73 XJ6 S1 cars coming soon). Like our XJS units, these will come ready to install and with a new clutch master cylinder (available in a variety of bore sizes and with clutch pedal adjustment, none of which the Jaguar factory style clutch master offers). They are nice units overall and should be a big help for anyone considering a manual trans (behind any engine) for their XJ sedan or coupe.

The complete ready to install units are $675 including the new clutch master. The end user transfers his current brake booster and master cylinder upon installation.

Here are some pics of one of the completed units. You will notice that the brake pedal pad is detachable (as also done on the XJS units) which helps with installation.

Let me know if you have any questions….

Thanks

Andrew

I prefer automatics but I bet you invested a lot of money into this assembly so congrats.
I know that many owners in Canada are always looking for these pedals.
Good luck!

Andrew, that's great news. I have a S1 car, so looking forward to that version coming out. Keep us posted.
