Not yet, Jose, that's still the old broken one.
It's broken across the top where some ham-handed worker of decades past tried to force it over the column.

Elinor, I have found that lowering the steering column (without removing the bolts entirely), eases the job of removing the upper nacelle. All you need is about 1" inch of lowering.

If you don't lower the column, either the nacelle breaks, or the hazard switch breaks.

Also I added a strip of stick-on brown Felt (sold at Joann's Fabrics), to the wood dash "n" area above the nacelle, to prevent the rubbing of plastic and wood. It also finishes the area nicely.

Oh yes! I discovered that in 2013 when I had to remove the instrument panel the first time. I had to put the spacers back too, but Next time (there's Always a Next Time), they won't be falling out on the floor!

That's probably what that aforementioned Ham-Handed worker of decades past did, either through laziness or ignorance.

The latter is no sin, but the former is inexcusable.

I'll have to try that the Next Time I have to lower the column. Thank you for the tip.

next time, Glue the spacers to the column bracket with crazy glue so they don't fall again. I forgot I did it too.

I'll try to get a picture of the Brown felt. It can be black too.

here's a picture of the felt strip I placed between the nacelle and the dash: Hardly visible but it fills the space between the two and it eliminated the rubbing noise.

Default Spacers

I had fun fumbling with those spacers myself. I had 5 of them - I think 3 on the right and 2 on the left. I ended up taping them together so at least they weren't falling all over the place but I like the super glue idea.
Not quite sure what their purpose is as far as leveling or balancing or whatever it is they do.

their purpose is to set the height and distance so you don't crush the plastic nacelle when you tighten the two bolts.

I glued the spacers together, then I glued the bottom of the lowest spacer to the top of the bracket.

as it turns out the old Hazard Switch I found complete with its wiring connected is a Series 2 switch, based on the silver decals on the wipers stalk switch. I'm going to repair the broken-off pin "ears" with washers.

Nanonevol: did your new switch come with a Triangle ("hazard") symbol in white paint that can be seen from the driving position?

thank to you guys i found my hazard switch.
it works but normally only the left signal turns on when hazard is on.
To have both 4 signals working I have to switch the hazard on and also engage the right signal lever. in this way it works.
There is something wrong but... not really willing to deal with this now.

most likely the hazard switch was replaced and they crossed the wires. It never fails.
