Hi all,
Help! I need advise regarding the the vacuum control capsule on my Australian fuel injected 1978 Series 2 Daimler Double Six.
The unit has failed and I noticed a replacement on eBay offered by my usually helpful Melbourne parts supplier.
Apparently the failed item is an advance/ retard capsule with pipes attaching to both sides of the diaphragm ie 2 outlets. The one for sale is a straight vacuum advance with only manifold suction outlet.
At this stage the parts supplier was less than helpful with some talk of timing changes etc.
I am very keen to know if this unit can be adapted to my car and if so what changes are required.
Any information greatly appreciated
Al

Should be plug and play, basically.
Ours had the twin thingy, replaced with the advance only.
Vac supply via a hose to the spare spigot on the rear of the RH inlet manifold. Would have preferred a signal from a throttle body underside, but ours had no spigots there.
Set the timing static 10deg BTDC, and then fined it up by "drive timing" it, as I do all the V12's.
