Default How common is my color combo?

I've been an owner of an 87 XJ6 for a couple of months now, and I've been a member here for about the same amount of time. While checking out the photos of other 87 XJ6s I've seen only one with my paint / interior combo.

SO...how common is my combo, it's silver body, and cranberry interior with black dash and dash leather compliments (the tiny shelf). It seems all others (majority minus 1) have tan, blue, or brown leather.

How common is mine?

It's rare-"ish", yes. Not like a "one of only three built this way" type of thing, but a bit unusual.

Mine was an oddball as well: Crimson red with Savile gray leather.

Black leather is also unusual on a Ser III.

Jaguar of America wasn't very imaginative when ordering cars .....or perhaps there was an agreement to limit the variety. I dunno. The possible combinations listed by Jaguar were rather numerous but here in the 'States we got mostly the same old, same old.

Cheers

I have never seen one with that colour combo. Mine is sliver with the blue interior. I'm thinking of re-doing the leather in white/beige and leaving the rest in blue (console, doors, etc). What do you guys think of mixing and matching or is it taboo, rather keep it original?

Taboo? Forget taboo. It's not like you're suggesting a change to the Mona Lisa.

Tastes vary. It's your car, do what you like!

But, since you asked.....

Jaguar is known for understatement. I think the two-tone scheme you've suggested will come off as a bit gaudy.

True!

I guess the combination I suggested might be a little crazy, but I have seen some nice two-tone combinations. I might also just re-dye the blue and be done with it. It's not in a bad shape, just a little old and worn.
