Yes sir, and the turbo mufflers are installed standing up in place of old resonators, fits quite well, stole the idea from lickahotskillets exhaust pics..
I suppose the neighbors will find another reason to complain now! Anyway, good job.
I hope you don't have any problem with speed bumps like the ones in Winter Park.
Sound depends on where you stand/sit.. outside of car in front its quite a deep tone, but not loud, standing behind the car, you hear the cam more, has a slight lope, but still not too loud, from inside the car its got a bit of a rumble, but nothing obnoxious, no drone, can hold a conversation or listen to radio... tried recording it, but loses a lot on the phone, sounds normal from back and up front all you can hear is air being sucked through the filter..
i am very happy with it!!!
If others are contemplating running theirs under the diff, this is a 2.5" exhaust that fits underneath a Jag IRS. Running a 28" dia.tire and I've not had any problems with speed bumps. This isn't a Jag car, but the diff sits at the same height as it would in a S3
If you're contemplating building an exhaust, the tube is all mandrel bends from mandrelbends.com (Columbia River Mandrel Bends).
The mufflers are cheap Dynomax 'turbo' mufflers and are pretty quiet without any drone. I made room for resonators, but after driving it a little I don't think I'll put them in.
The hangers are inexpensive ebay item. Don't know why, but they call them 'southern' exhaust hangers.
The exhaust tips are just a polished stainless mandrel u-bend cut it half and welded on to the mild steel tube with some nickle rod.. When it comes time to lump my S3 I'm wondering how to recreate that iconic 's' the Jag has with 2.5" mandrel bends - that would be cool.
I used ebay v-bands to hold it together. If you do this make sure you weld the v-bands clamped together in position or they'll be hard to get to seal. V-band that let you 'pilot' the tube into the mating flange work best.
If you would have used round Magnaflow mufflers they would not be hanging down in the resonator area..when I did the '72 LT1/700R I used the same type mufflers you used...I learned from that.
I never hit anything with the exhaust under the IRS. That car had the S shaped Jaguar tips added by necking down the muffler end to fit.. pitifully small but it looked good. Would love to be able to
have 2 1/4 sized tips made up like them for my current Jag that is overdue for the exhaust to be redone correctly.
