Default Injector harness wire.

Hello all,
I am currently in the process of gathering all the bits to make a new injector harness for my car (XJ6 4.2 Ltr). I managed to find new injector plugs but they already have wire connected to them which looks to be 18g. I think this is thinner than the original wire which is maybe 16g. As the new plugs wires are crimped on I am not keen uncrimp them and then either solder or recrimp thicker wire on to them. So my question is, does anyone know what the current is that is carried on the injector wires and whether 18g wires will do the job? If not I will need to find different connectors without the wires connected. Does anyone know a vendor who can supply these connectors?

Hi,
here's a UK vendor I had in my bookmarks that sells harnesses as well as parts. Links to both below, please make sure the plugs I found are the correct ones since I have not ordered anything yet.

Cheers !
Brian

Hi Brian thanks for your reply. The plugs look the business. I originally bought a couple of straight Bosch EV1 plugs but they did not fit because the spring retainer was too high above the body of the plug which stopped it pushing on properly. I did manage to modify these but then I found the Bosch EV1 LOW plug which is a perfect fit. The websites were interesting but I don't think that I am going to pay almost $500 AUD for that harness. A bit of research for parts and then actual work constructing it will give me a servicable harness made from silicon covered wire that will outlast the original and that harness that were made from PVC covered wire. AND I think I can constructing it for considerably less than that price. The other pages showing different connectors will be very handy and is going into my online resources folder for useful parts.
Thanks
